Keep Calm and Gig'Em

I have seen the Keep Calm and Gig'em image on Pinterest but it was missing the apostrophe. So I went ahead and made my own with the apostrophe in it. Feel free to copy the image and print it for yourself! I have it on my office door right now. The dimensions are 8.5"x11".

Organize, Label, Spices!!

I love to cook so I have accumulated a lot of spices....as you can see! I came across many pins about organizing your pantry. I figured I could start with my spices! I wanted to put them in spice jars and label them. I found clear glass spice jars at Bed Bath and Beyond for $0.99!
I just took what they had left on the shelves! :) Any extras that I have I can use for new spices or for other craft things to store.
So much better!!! I even alphabetized them so it would be easier to find what I was looking for. This makes me so happy! So nice, clean, and organized. Plus I made labels for each one! I love labels!!!
Close up! You can get a better look at the labels I used.

First attempt to build furniture!

I want to get back to sewing but I did not have a good place to have all my sewing machines. My round kitchen table was not going to cut it anymore! I decided I would try and build a table for my sewing. I also wanted to play with my new drill :)!

Since the top was so heavy I needed to add some extra support!

Once I get everything organized and in place the sewing will begin!

Night Stand Turned to Wine Stand!

I found this lovely night stand a few houses down from mine in a pile of furniture. It was painted with black but when you touched the night stand you would get black all over your hands!

I stripped most of the paint off and then sanded it down a little too.

I wanted it to have a distressed look. I painted the edges black where I was going to distress it.

I then painted it turquoise and grey on the inside. Once it dried I started distressing with a fine sand paper.

Here is the finally product! It is the perfect little wine stand!

Turquoise Mirror

My dad found this mirror in a give away pile a few houses down from mine. I broke off those wooden cactuses and the longhorn.

I sanded down the mirror and then stained it with a dark walnut. It did not come out the way I had imagined. It came out black!!!!

Then I had a genius idea to paint it turquoise and do a little distressing!

Here is the final product!!! I am in love with this mirror and it adds a splash of color to my living room!

The Coral Desk

I was given this desk for free. I needed a new desk and it was time to get rid of the ikea desk!! As you can see it was a lovely brown color. I needed to give it a touch of Nadia!! I wanted a coral desk in my study/craft room. I figured it would add some color...I love color!!!

I sanded the top down and stained it with a dark walnut. (granger had to get in one picture)
I then painted black over the brown. I wanted a chipped/distressed look for this desk.

I filled the holes from the old hard ware and then proceded to paint on the lovely coral!

Here is the final product!! It looks great in my room! Now I need to rearrange the room.

Green Dresser Finished!

This is the green dresser I found for $25 at a garage sale. It is solid wood and has three different layers to it...green, white, and a stain.

I stripped it and then sanded it down. This process took some time due to the three different layers.

I did one stain of Bombay mahogany. Then did a clear semi-gloss seal on it.

Here is the final product! I got the hardware from Hobby Lobby and painted the turquoise with a dry paint brush.
